We stop foreclosure from happening

How can we stop foreclosure from happening to us before the process actually commences. In this article we take a look at something's you should not do if you are trying to stop a foreclosure occurring on your home.

1. It is best if you accrue some savings for an emergency. Unfortunately a lot of people because find it very difficult to save even the smallest amounts possible for a rainy day and such days can occur. Therefore if at all possible you should try to have at least 3 months worth of mortgage payments placed into a savings account as this will help to stop a foreclosure from occurring.

2. Also ensure that you have a home equity line of credit in place. Normally you will need money fast in order to help stop a foreclosure but this can be extremely difficult to get hold of. Certainly 90% of all foreclosures could well have been delayed or prevented if the homeowner had a home equity line of credit in place and activated. Such a line of credit can be done on most occasions at no cost to the homeowner and the rate of interest can often be as low as 4%. So by doing this you will have money whenever you need and then once everything is back in order then you can back the line and use it again in the future. However do not try to use it for any old purpose but use it as fall back if your financial circumstances change suddenly through illness etc.

3. Never miss your mortgage payments. This may seem like the most obvious thing to remember, but as you will soon discover every foreclosure on a property will have occurred because of the homeowner missing one of their mortgage payments.

4. Never be afraid to ask for help. Unfortunately a lot of people when they are faced with foreclosure on their home will be too afraid, embarrassed or shamed to discuss the matter with those around them and who care about them. Unfortunately it is best if you tell them now rather than letting them read about it in the local paper or when you have to move out of your home.

Finally if you want to know how we stop foreclosure from happening to you then you need to talk to your lender rather than ignoring them. Today you will find that most lenders are willing to find a way to sort out things especially if the reason for the problems is justified. A lot of lenders would rather see payments from you than have your house and will be willing to negotiate some sort of payment plan that can help you to get back on track and remain on track in the future.
